The temple is dedicated to Kwan Dai, the God of War,and a popular deity who lived from A.D. 161 to A.D. 219. It has been owned and used by the Hee family members since 1871. Its recent rehabilitation was celebrated at the dedication of the Temple of Kwan Tai in October 2001.
